Fund Development Manager

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Fund Development Manager. The Manager plays an essential role in developing and maintaining a pipeline of donors across multiple markets by actively managing identified prospects and supporting strategic, individual giving operational plans. The Fund Development Manager is responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding individual and corporate prospects and collaborates with staff to carry out its responsibilities. This individual will be responsible for building the donor pipeline, cultivating long-term relationships and retaining donors through consistent identification, exceptional engagement, timely solicitation and relevant stewardship.

Qualified candidates must have a proven ability to quickly build credibility within and outside of the organization and make an immediate contribution to accomplishing key priorities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Relationship Management, Cultivation, Stewardship

  1. Develops, refines and implements key functions of an Individual Giving Operational Plan to achieve targeted revenue goals assigned.
  2. Responsible for attracting and retaining prospective donors by delivering an appropriate program mix of cultivation, solicitation and stewardship activities.
  3. Plays a key role on the market relationship management team, pulls and refreshes reports that will assist the INK Board of Directors and Executive Director in the identification of new prospects. Ensures appropriate first and next engagement activities are conducted and tracked, stewards market donors.

Donor Development

  1. Manage unique list of mid-level donors and prospects, and through one-on-one interactions and the execution of appropriate relationship management steps, confirm increased levels of giving from active portfolio names. Work collaboratively with INK staff as well as key market volunteers to identify, cultivate and solicit new donor prospects. Utilize national donor cultivation and stewardship opportunities (research, advocacy, wellness meetings, teleconferences, and webcasts) to increase meaningful donor interactions.
  2. Manage prospects and donors with any hard credit single or cumulative gift in the range of $2,500-$7,499 and/or wealth engine capacity screening of $75K-$199K. Portfolio size will vary as individuals are qualified and prioritized into a working portfolio that are cultivated and stewarded by meaningful and substantive contact with donors. Ensure that planned giving donors are included in all engagement opportunities to ensure they have a clear and consistent experience after naming INK in their will.

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates must meet the below minimum requirements:
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to ask for gifts at a mid-level range.
• Ability to create and utilize donor prospecting and management tools including moves management, donor prospect sheets, etc.
• Time management, event management, organization, communication, marketing, relationship management, and collaboration skills required.
• Strong writing skills including proposal and report writing, as well as internal and external communications with attention to detail.
• Knowledge of industry standards, current trends, and best practices.
• Experience building and leading fundraising teams.
• Results driven style and proven track record of fundraising success.
• Experience and knowledge in mid-major level donor fundraising.
• Strong understanding of moves management planning and the donor lifecycle. 

Technical/Other:
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Database management

• Creative and energetic individual who functions well within a fast-paced, team environment, which includes cross-department collaboration
• Ability to work well with volunteers, staff, and a variety of constituents is essential

• Ability to manage and motivate groups, both internally and externally
• Project Management experience including ability to manage multiple and high priority projects at one time.

Reports to:    Executive Director of INK

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Education:
• Bachelor of Arts or Science 

Minimum Experience: 
• 3-5 years of nonprofit fundraising experience required.

Terms of Employment

This position is 40 hours per week including some evenings and weekends.  Salary shall be paid monthly.  There are no health benefits associated with this position.

EVALUATION:

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually.
