Past Presidents Council

Purpose:  To advise and assist the governing board of the Florida First Coast Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

Objectives:

• Provide advice and historical perspective to the activities of the AFP Board of Directors (ongoing)
  
• Assist the board and officers on an as needed basis (ongoing)
  
• Establish written guidelines for the ongoing operation of the Past Presidents Council (2002)
  
• Assist board in preparation of a written document to "formalize" the chapter policies (2002)
  
• Assist with implementation of long-range goals including: (future)
  
• Programs and activities directed toward advanced professionals
  
• Development of partnerships with local colleges and universities to provide continuing education and/or related degree programs
  
• Increased visibility and use of AFP as a resource in the community and by the media

Structure:

• Membership limited to past chapter presidents and chapter charter members who are active or retired members of AFP
  
• The council will meet no less than two times per year (at the discretion of the chapter president, the council may be included in some portion of the board’s annual retreat)
  
• The council chair will serve as a member of the AFP Board of Directors, and attend meetings of the board
