The University Development and Alumni Engagement (UDAE) unit at the University of North Florida invites applications for the position of Director of Annual Giving. The qualified candidate must be an effective and proven leader, planner, manager and team builder. The Director of Annual Giving will report to the Assistant Vice President for Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving and collaborates with the Alumni Engagement team, Advancement Operations team, Central Development, constituents, Development officers, and other University of North Florida departments on strategy, initiatives and events.

The Director of Annual Giving works closely with the Assistant Vice President for Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving to implement a comprehensive strategic plan to increase alumni giving, parent giving and friend/community giving through the solicitation of annual funds while setting participation goals. The Director of Annual Giving, under the direction of an Assistance Vice President or above, provides leadership and guidance for a university department and is responsible for the overall direction of the Annual Giving department, including fiscal/budget management. The qualified candidate will plan and execute a systematic fundraising program to provide financial support for the university's annual giving program, design and implement departmental strategies and objectives to ensure departmental goals are met, and develop and/or supervise the implementation of programs, policies & procedures and technology initiatives. Other responsibilities include development of proposals, recommendations and reports for senior leadership, collaboration with senior leaders to integrate departmental objectives that impact the university.

This position will oversee the UNF Annual Fund, special & annual giving programs, and annual leadership giving. The Director will be responsible for linking donor participation with alumni engagement activities and accelerating the growth of annual giving and creating a strategy for building commitment and engagement among UNF's alumni and friends.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Knowledge of University mission, services, policies and procedures.

-Knowledge of alumni and donor segmentation.

-Detailed knowledge of and commitment to professional standards and practices.

-Developed management and planning skills.

-Computer literacy skills including knowlege of Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as competence in database management, preferably including Raisers Edge.

-Able to forge strong working relationships with others and a capacity for engaging confidence and trust among donors, alumni, parents and friends of the University of North Florida.

-Strong communication, presentation and writing skills.

-Ability to conduct personal solicitations and manage volunteers.

-Well developed interpersonal skills and ability to balance and move forward on multiple projects.
