National Philanthropy Day Committee:
The Association of Fundraising Professionals Florida First Coast Chapter will hold its 30th Annual National Philanthropy Day in November of 2017. This is a day that we celebrate and remember the importance of philanthropy and why we change the world with a giving and wise heart. This committee works together to make this event successful. Those interested in getting to know your fellow AFP members a little better and helping to ensure a successful 2017 NPD event, please join the 2017 NPD Committee by contacting Annie Tutt at firstname.lastname@example.org
Youth in Philanthropy Committee:
The AFP Collegiate Chapter program was created to inform college-age students about fundraising as a career path and to educate them about philanthropy in general. The concept is that a collegiate chapter will be formed on a college or university campus and will have a relationship with the professional AFP chapter in the geographic area for mentoring and guidance. The hope is that this circle of determining a cause, learning ethical fundraising principles, and then ultimately giving back to the cause will instill in students the rewards of professional fundraising as a career path. Upon graduation, it is hoped they will consider employment in the nonprofit sector. General Responsibilities of committee members: Serve as a source of advice; provide suggestions in reviewing the plans and strategies that relate to the YIP Committee; Participate in the YIP monthly meetings and events as available; Take part in the mentor/job shadowing program offered to AFP students; Help fulfill the goals and objectives of the AFP Collegiate Chapter at UNF and Flagler College. For more information contact Ali Badibanga - email@example.com
The Vice President of Communications is responsible for promoting AFP and gaining exposure. This is accomplished by notifying news publications (Florida Times-Union, Jacksonville Business Journal and the Financial News and Daily Record) of upcoming meetings and events. The position also acts as a resource with media outlets to spread information about AFP events (collegiate chapter, National Philanthropy Day, etc.). Any stories relevant to AFP should be forwarded to the VP of Communications, so they can produce a press release and submit to print and media organizations. For more information contact Jeff Davitt at JDavitt@flagler.edu
Membership Enrichment Committee:
This group of AFP members helps plan new member socials, member and guest socials and send e-mails and place phone calls to new members to welcome them to the chapter. If interested, please contact Jessica Waugaman at firstname.lastname@example.org
This committee serves to bring diversity to the chapter and the fundraising sector. As the region becomes increasingly diverse, nonprofits´ ability to adapt and reflect the new and emerging needs of our communities and the shifting demographics are essential to success.
